N°3 : Birds

Ok, now we have to talk about cuties: birds. I’m a birds lover, eagle or sparrow, whatever. The most famous of idioms is “the early bird catches the worm”. Hard life for little birds who couldn’t wake up at time. They’ll eat some seed in the best-case, and not eat at all in the worse. Eh, what about owls? They live by night… and consequently don’t ever eat? IMPOSSIBLE, they will be “as dead as a dodo”. In idioms, birds have a complicated existence. Or, don’t have any existence, hum. You still believe not? The last one: “to kill two birds with one stone”. I might said that Tweety and co have life against them… no?

N°3 : Throw the baby!

All this love to fertility can give ideas to few ones, and can permit to extend families aha. But A newborn baby is of course the most precious and delicate things you can have in your hands. When you have your baby in your hands you always think: don’t drop it, be very very careful ! In southern India and Sri lank it is a little bit different. They got a custom for good luck that consist in throwing the baby… from a 15 meters high temple!!! Of course the family is downtown to catch the baby but, to survive a 15 meters fall, it is already a good stroke of luck, so it might work lol. Hopefully this 500-years old tradition is performed only by a couple of families.

N°4 : Cheese rolling

The cheese rolling was bord in England and once a year there is a serious competition. There can be up to 40 participants. As the name means, It consists in let roll a cheese from the top of a montain and participants have to catch the cheese first. The sport is considered as a dangerous activity because it current causes injuries. I wish the winner can bring home the huge cheese !

N°4 : Ecological problems

Finally, I will talk about ecological and environmental problems due to human food. This is where the funny part ends and where the “ugly” part starts. Foremost, humans are killing more and more animals to feed themselves. And it leads to the disappearance of species, like Dodo in Maurice island, which disappeared because of human hunting. Some fish species also have begun to disappear due to fishing, especially in Asia, where fishing is overused and where many killed fishes are not eaten. Next, agriculture uses more and more fertilizer and herbicides, which pollute soil and water. Agriculture also causes the destruction of the Amazon forest in Brazil and at the same time the destruction of the house of many species of animals. Food has too much impact on the environment, I couldn’t not talk about it.

N°4 : Aqua

The last one, aquatic creatures. “There are plenty of fish in the sea”: human are very clear-sighted uh. Moreover, actually we destroy the planet and there are less and less fish in the sea. And the remaining ones are composed of plastic, yum-yum. Time to talk about something more appetizing for french people: FROGS. “I have a frog in my throat” is typically french: those who complain all the time and (let us remember this) EAT FROOOOOGS. And I promise, this is not “a fish tale”.

N°4 : Get your Kleenex

We hope the families aren’t clumsy or it can turn into an other tradition unfortunately .In some places in the world, or in some families, it is really weird to show that you are embarrassed by the funeral of someone, and so, to give more importance and « Drama » to funerals, an usual profession has emerged, and it’s quite weird: The professional mourners! Fake mourners can be rented and they are paid a handsome amount to come cry at your funerals. The strangest thing is the fact that it work a lot and fake mourners are in some countries a growing industry.

Bonus: Super ground
To get to these places you will have of course to take the plane. Some of us have already took the plane at least once in our lives and we can relate that. The first landing of a plane is always quite cool but we get to used it fastly (?). In some countries there are a custom and people are clapping when the plane land, Maybe it’s because the ground is pretty awesome over there, we don’t know, but what we are certain is we will never see something like this in Paris or NY.

N°5 : Throw of pea

This unique sport was born in England too. It seems the english were boring about the archery so they created the throw of pea. It’s a similar principle, the participants have to throw a pea on a target. This sport make me laugh because participants are too serious, as if the sport was normal, as they weren’t throwing a PEA ! So if you want to have you own style, your own sport that none of your friend can practice, go for it !
